Innovating for equity
NESTA - the UK’s largest innovation agency - wanted to improve its organisational diversity and inclusion. They asked Versiti to review relevant human resources strategies, policies, employee data and employee-led efforts to improve internal diversity and inclusion.
We also led workshops with senior leaders. Through careful work, our approach helped the leadership team understand how diversity and inclusion are fundamental to fairness in innovation, not ‘just’ a matter of human resources and corporate culture. Unless NESTA focuses specifically on reducing inequalities - not just improving outcomes for all - gaps will continue to grow.
The work emboldened the senior team to put the reduction of inequalities at the heart of their 10-year strategy, which now focuses on innovation that will help close key gaps in early years, health and environmental sustainability.
